Meena and Pratul Ajmera Endowment

Distributions from the Fund will be used at the discretion of the Head of the Department of Physics, or his or her designee, to provide support for students in the Department of Physics. The purpose of this Fund is to support educational diversity at NC State by giving priority to students in the Department of Physics from groups which are considered underrepresented in physics. Within that priority, preference shall be given to students who demonstrate support for, or who are members of, the NC State Women in Physics group.

The Donors’ primary intent is to provide support for students to attend professional international, national and/or regional conferences and/or meetings. Fund uses may include but are not limited to associated costs with attending conferences and/or meetings, such as travel expenses. First preference shall be given to students disseminating their research results, second preference given to graduate students to attend conferences and/or meetings and third preference given to undergraduate students to attend conferences and/or meetings.

If there is no eligible recipient who meets the aforementioned criteria, the Fund may support a scholarship for students who demonstrate support for, or are members of, the NC State Women in Physics group. Scholarships will be for one academic year.
