Garrett H. (Bart) Nicholson (PPT ’81)
Garrett H. (Bart) Nicholson (PPT ’81) is a Pulp and Paper Industry veteran, having served in technical, operational, management and senior executive positions during a 32 year career. He is the president of The Nicholson Resource Group LLC, a consulting, business management, development and investment company.
Bart has served in many capacities in professional associations, charitable and outreach organizations, and community and civic efforts. He is a life member of the Wolfpack Club and has been a longtime director of the Pulp & Paper Advisory Board of the NC State Natural Resources Foundation Inc., currently serving on the executive leadership team. Bart resides with his wife Pamela in the Western North Carolina mountain community of Sapphire.
Bart attended NC State as an out-of-state student from Virginia and was among the first generation in his family to attain a college degree. The scholarships, work-study program and summer employment opportunities made available by the pulp and paper program enabled him to graduate debt-free. His hope is that the Bart and Pam Nicholson Scholarship will likewise assist students in the Paper Science and Engineering program, and enable them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
