Ben and Peggy Chilton

The Ben and Peggy Chilton Enhancement Endowment was established in 2006 by the late Ben Chilton and his wife, Mrs. Peggy Chilton.
Ben Chilton served the College of Natural Resources as director of the Pulp and Paper and Forestry Foundations, beginning in 1987. He was a dedicated and successful recruiter who impacted countless numbers of students and helped the program and endowments to reach new heights. During his tenure at NC State, the Forestry Foundation realized a 3133% change in income and a 460% growth in the number of endowments. Likewise, the Pulp and Paper Foundation saw a 993% increase in the number of endowments. He was a friend, confidant, and mentor to many at NC State. He and his wife enjoyed traveling. Peggy Chilton continues to support the College of Natural Resources.
