CALS Academic Programs

Mr. Parker was a graduate of NC State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and a Master of Science in Poultry Science. He was Assistant Agricultural Extension Agent in Gaston County until 1954 before returning to Scotland County to enter a farming business. He was a leader in the production of cotton, soybeans, and tobacco before retiring in 1989. Mrs. Parker received her education at Gardner Webb, Appalachian State University, and UNC-Chapel Hill. She taught school and was the past president of the North Carolina Extension Homemakers. She continued in leadership positions with the Extension Homemakers.
