Camp Younts Foundation
The Camp Younts Foundation Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences Scholarship was established with an initial gift in 1999 from the Camp Younts Foundation. In 2015 the endowment was amended to clarify that scholarships are to be awarded to undergraduate students based on academic achievement, professional promise, leadership potential and financial need who are enrolled in Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology in the College of Natural Resources, with a preference for incoming students from Franklin / Southhampton County, VA and students from VA and North Carolina.
The Camp-Younts Foundation was established in 1955 by Mrs. Willie Camp Younts and Charles Rolphi Younts. Giving from the foundation is primarily for education, with emphasis on higher and secondary educational institutions (including colleges and universities), and social services; support also for youth, Protestant giving, and health associations and hospitals with focus on helping poor and needy people.
