Christopher and Kimberley Humphrey

Chris (Chemical Engineering ’93) and Kim (English ’93) Humphrey both grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and have stayed in the area ever since. Chris practices patent law, and he credits his success to the engineering education and mentoring he received at NC State. Kim has continued her passion for literature and believes in its importance in a well-rounded education.

Along with their daughters, Lindsey and Ashley, the Humphreys are avid Wolfpack fans and season ticket holders for football and basketball. Chris is a third-generation NC State student, so that Wolfpack loyalty goes back to the early 20th century. Chris and Kim cherish their NC State student years. With this scholarship, they hope to help others have similar opportunities. The goal of the Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative is to offer more need-based scholarships, expanding affordability and access for North Carolina students to attend NC State.
