Dr. and Mrs. Larry M. Sykes

Dr. Larry M. and Mrs. Rita P. Sykes created this scholarship in an effort to show their love and appreciation for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University. Dr. Larry Sykes, a native of Franklin County, North Carolina, was the Director of Agricultural Programs for Philip Morris, USA, for many years. He has three degrees from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NC State, his BS in 1966, his MS in 1968, and his PhD in 1971. In addition, he served as not only President of the North Carolina Tobacco Foundation, Inc., but in various other roles, including being a member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina State University Alumni Association.
