Dr. & Mrs. Joe W. Reece

Dr. Joe W. Reece established this scholarship in 1989 in commemoration of Ellen Miller West who enrolled in August 1986 as a transfer student from Surry Community College and completed requirements for a Biomedical Engineering degree in June 1988 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Dr. Reece is also an alumnus of NC State. He graduated in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, and in 1961 with a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics.
