Drs. Dennis and Georgina Werner, Ms. Sarah Werner

In establishing this endowment, the Werners wanted to be able to give back to NC State for the many opportunities that have been provided to them, and to honor the undergraduate students who have been and continue to be a very special part of Dr. Werner’s professional experience. Dr. Georgina Werner has worked in Research and Development and Business Development and Licensing for Bayer CropScience and its legacy companies. Dr. Dennis Werner has been a faculty member in Horticultural Science at NC State for more than 30 years. His career includes undergraduate and graduate teaching, research in plant breeding and genetics, Director of the JC Raulston Arboretum, Director of Graduate Programs, and a number of research publications and patents. He has also received numerous awards including the J.C. Raulston Distinguished Professor Award and he is a member of the NCSU Academy of Outstanding Teachers. Both Georgina and Dennis Werner completed their doctorate degrees in Horticultural Science at Michigan State University. They have two daughters.
