Edward and Frances Knox

Edward Knox established the Bryan Edward Knox Memorial Scholarship Endowment to honor his son, Bryan Edward Knox, who passed away and loved NC State. Edward himself graduated from NC State in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. Their son Scott Knox, and son-in-law Bobby Scoggins, also graduated from NC State, as did numerous nephews. As of 2019, their grandson, Garrett Scoggins, is also an NC State student.

Edward was given the College of Education’s Distinguished Alumni award in 2014. He previously served in the North Carolina senate, and was mayor of Charlotte from 1979-1983.
