The Mark C. Memorial Scholarship was started to honor my late husband who died at the age of 33 in a car accident. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering and his MS in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University. I attended NCSU as well and received my BS in Mechanical Engineering and my BS in Applied Sociology. My husband would be thrilled knowing a new generation of young engineers are benefitting in some small way from this scholarship. This scholarship provides my son and I with a lasting memorial, a way to give back and remember a husband and father. My brother, Dr. Russell Roberson, started this scholarship as a way to honor his brother-in-law and support engineering students.
Impact
The scholarship provides a lasting memorial for my late husband and gives me great pleasure knowing young engineering students can use the scholarship money to help alleviate some of the financial burden of a college education.
