Gary & Pennie Thrower

I (Gary) graduated from NCSU in 1983 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. The criteria for this scholarship outlines the reasons why my wife and I established it.

Financial assistance – I put myself through college using money I earned during the summers, and college loans. We hope this scholarship eases the financial burden of the recipient.

Engineering – my degree in engineering has served me well in my personal and professional life. The problem solving skills you obtain through the engineering program are transferable to any profession.

Gaston County – my wife and I chose Gaston County as our home in 2001. We’re proud to live here, and want to use this scholarship to give back a little.
