In Memory of William D. Bulla, Jr.
William D. Bulla, Jr. was a 1960 graduate in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger, TX where he earned several patents related to emissions control of stack gases. Recruited by NASA in the early stages of moon exploration, he worked for the Electric Storage Battery Company in Raleigh, NC. There he led a team of engineers that developed and manufactured the batteries that powered the moon walk vehicle. Mr. Bulla’s last job was chief engineer at Almay, a large cosmetic firm in Apex, NC.
