Keith & Cathy Pehl
The Pehl Family, consisting of Keith ’84, Catherine and twin daughters Kayla and Nicole ’16 wanted to provide a partial scholarship to students need to be able to attend NC State University. They did not want to restrict the scholarship to any major or any other item.
Impact
If a student cannot afford to go to college, then this scholarship can help make it possible for them. The Pehl Family decided to name the scholarship after Cathy’s father, Joe T. Owen, who died several weeks before their daughters were born. While he was not an NC State graduate, he would surely be proud that both his granddaughters grew up and were able to attend four-year colleges and receive bachelor’s degrees.
