Lt. Colonel and Mrs. Fred W. Burt

he Burts are a three-generation NC State University family. Lt. Colonel Burt, a 1974 graduate of NC State is the eighth generation of the Burt family to farm their land and take up the challenge to keep the farm in the Burt family. Their farm is used to produce tobacco, soybeans, alfalfa, small grain, beef cattle, and a large amount of pasture and hayland. Mrs. Shirley Burt is a native of Caswell County, NC and an active member of the Family and Consumer Association of North Carolina.
