Mr. A. Tab Williams

Tab Williams, a 1950 graduate who studied Field Crops, is a loyal benefactor of, and advocate for, NC State University. He has given his time and money and made use of his personal and professional networks to benefit the university.
Mr. Williams is the founder of A. T. Williams Oil Company, the parent company for Wilco Travel and Fuel Plazas. He was regularly known to stop in at Wilco Plazas to check on the cleanliness of restrooms, which he considers to be a major draw for customers. In 2001, he sold part of Wilco to longtime supplier Hess Corporation and the joint venture was named WilcoHess.
Mr. Williams was inducted into the NC Business Hall of Fame in December 2011. He was also the recipient of NC State’s 2003 Watauga Medal.
