Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fleming, Jr.

Cristie Abigail “Abbi” Fleming was a pre-med student majoring in Zoology. She had planned to enter a physician’s assistant program upon graduation from NC State University. As a student here at NC State, she worked as a laboratory assistant on egg functionality in the Food Science Department. She was tragically killed in a car accident in 1998. This scholarship, established by the Carolina-Virginia Dairy Products Association in her honor, is awarded to undergraduate students majoring in the dairy science program in the Department of Food Science on the basis of merit and academic achievement.
