Mr. David Godfrey, Mr. Marvin R. Godfrey

Marvin Godfrey was born in 1927 in Elizabeth City in Pasquotank County, NC. He grew up on a typical farm with his brothers and sisters. He attended NC State University, but left to serve in the Merchant Marine during the conclusion of WWII. He returned to NC State to earn a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1950 and a Master of Science in 1964. Except for his return to service in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, he worked in the NC Certified Seed Program for NC Crop Improvement Association located in Williams Hall at NC State from graduation until the mid 1960’s. He then worked as head of the seed department for the NC Farmers Cooperative Exchange. He continues to live in Wake County and remains a Wolfpack fan. His three children also attended NC State.
