Mr. Edgar S. Woolard, Jr.

Mr. Edgar S. Woolard and his wife, Peggy, established this endowment in 2008. Mr. Woolard is an NC State graduate with a BS in Industrial Engineering. During his time as a student, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He is also a lifetime member of the Wolfpack Club.
He began his career at DuPont when he joined the company as an industrial engineer in a North Carolina plant. After a successful 30+ year career, he become Chairman and CEO in 1989. He is now retired Chairman of the Board and retired CEO of DuPont. He has been recognized nationally and internationally by the chemical industry for his achievements, receiving the Palladium Medal and the Banski Award – the chemical and environmental industry’s most prestigious awards.
