Mr. Ernest C. Hunt, Jr.

Ernest C. Hunt, Jr. established this scholarship in 1998 to provide support for students at PCOM who excel in academic achievement. Mr. Hunt is a 1949 Engineering alumnus of NC State and founder and former owner of Thermos Industries. He appreciated the importance of a formal business education and that’s why he is one of the college’s biggest benefactors with a particular interest in sponsoring student entrepreneurial activities and events. He and his wife, Shirley, have made a lasting contribution to the college by sponsoring the E. C. Hunt Board Room in Nelson Hall.
