Mr. Fred R. Tarver, III
Dr. Fred R. Tarver, Jr’s knowledge in the poultry industry made him a constant source for responding to the media and to government at times when critical issues arose. He was active in community affairs, including at his church. He joined the Department of Food Science as an Extension Associate Professor in 1963 and retired in 1989. His extension work was focused on improving quality and wholesomeness of poultry products. He was known for his excellent and insightful workships directed at process quality control in both the poultry and egg industries.
