Ms. Wylene C. Johnson

The Ernest R. Ellis Trust provides merit scholarships to students majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NC State University with preference to students from the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Mr. Ernest “Richard” Ellis was born and raised on a farm in the Millboro community of Randolph County, NC. Even after he left the family farm, his interest and appreciation for agriculture continued throughout his life. Although he and his wife, Lithie, had no children of their own, they expressed the desire to assist young people with their education and it was through this concern that they chose to establish a scholarship for prospective teachers of agriculture in North Carolina.
