Renee Lawing/Carson Olin Wiggins, Sr

The family of Carson Olin “Lin” Wiggins, Jr. established this scholarship in 2010 in his memory. Mr. Wiggins was a 1976 graduate in Civil Engineering. He was a dedicated engineer with the NC Department of Transportation where he came up with the idea for WIGINS for which he received numerous awards. These awards were the National Association of State Chief Information Officers 2009 Recognition Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Information Technology, the International Computerworld Award, NCDOT Road Gang Member, and The Order of the Long Leaf Pine.
