Ron Estridge
The Ronald Estridge Family Scholarship Endowment was established in 1990 by Ron Estridge.
Ron Estridge is a thirty-five year veteran of the pulp and paper industry and has served the industry with distinction. He retired from James River Corporation in Virginia where he served as Senior Vice President of Technology. He had been with James River since 1974 when he started as Vice President of Corporate Development and Executive Vice President of the James River, Massachusetts’s subsidiary. Prior to his position with James River, he served in executive, technical and research and development positions at Georgia Kraft Company, Mead Corporation, and Albemarle Paper Company.
Dr. Estridge has served the industry tirelessly over the years. He served as president of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, interim president of IPST, and has given his time and talent to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Forest and Paper Association, and Canadian Pulp and Paper Association, Technical Section.
Dr. Estridge received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering with honors from North Carolina State University and is a past director of the University’s Pulp and Paper Foundation. He received MS and Ph.D. degrees from the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he received the Outstanding First-Year Student award and the Westbrook Steele Medal for Excellence of Ph.D. Thesis.
He and his wife, Cynthia reside in Midlothian, Virginia. They have three children and three grandchildren.
