Todd Yates

Todd (’89 Business Management) and Michelle Mayo Yates (’90 Business Management) are strong supporters of NC State, especially to the Alumni Association and the Poole College of Management (PCOM). Todd has also given through service on the PCOM Board of Advisors. Todd epitomizes the spirit of NC State’s “Think and Do” philosophy. He also believes that people who have received have a responsibility to give back. Todd said, “While I am a scrapper and worked for everything I accomplished, I am pretty sure I would never have made it without the help I received from numerous people. Folks that loved me, supported me, challenged me, engaged me, inspired me, believed in me and that were willing to follow me. It is a long list of people! I have been very blessed”.

Todd thrives on the energy and curiosity that young people bring to life. “I have no doubts they will lift us to higher levels than we can imagine. If I can be a part of that and help contribute to the future, then that brings me great pleasure”.

Michelle is a dedicated volunteer to the Raleigh-Durham community and has served in multiple leadership roles with National Charity League (NCL, Inc.). Todd said of Michelle, “Helping others accomplish a better life is in her DNA”. Michelle supported herself through college by working on campus as a resident advisor and through the Cooperative Education program. She knows first-hand the financial struggle some students face to meet expenses. Michelle reflected, “It’s exciting and fulfilling to now be in a place to make it easier for a future Wolfpacker”.
