NSF S-STEM Scholarship

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

  • be a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or Admitted Refugee
  • full-time enrollment in mathematics
  • demonstrate financial need (by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.ed.gov)
  • demonstrate academic ability or potential
  • undergraduate students are eligible for S-STEM scholarships in their junior and senior years

Scholarship Renewal Criteria:

  • maintain minimum GPA of 3.0
  • complete at least 30 credit hours each academic year (undergraduate students)
  • complete at least 18 credit hours each academic year (graduate students)
  • make satisfactory progress towards degree
  • maintain positive student image consistent with academic scholars
  • continue to meet the federal financial aid requirements
  • continue as a full-time student in mathematics at NC State University
  • participate in all required S-STEMS scholar-related activities
  • complete a program survey
