Eta Omicron-Alpha Brotherhood Scholarship
Distributions from the Fund will be used to provide merit- and need-based scholarships for first-year undergraduate students. Awards will be for one academic year and are not automatically renewable. Students who have previously received the award may reapply for and, if selected, receive the award for one additional academic year. Preference will be given as follows:
1) For first-year undergraduate students:
a) First preference will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or a commitment to working with the Black male community. Examples may include, but are not limited to, students’ volunteer activity, involvement in their local community and participation in student organizations sponsored by a high school focused on the Black male community.
b) Second preference will be given to students who have participated in pre-college programs such as the Emerging Scholars Academy, NC Math & Science Education Network or other pre-enrollment programs.
2) For students who have previously received the award:
a) Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or a commitment to working with the Black male community. Examples may include, but are not limited to, students’ volunteer activity, involvement in their local community and participation in student organizations focused on the Black male community (including, but not limited to, the Black Male Initiative, the African-American Cultural Center and other programs sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs).
