Machelle Sanders Science Opportunity Scholarship Endowment

Provides need-based scholarships to undergraduate students within the College of Sciences. Made to one or more students by the College Scholarship Committee in accordance with the established procedures for making need-based awards. For one academic year and may be renewable based on availability of funding and specific criteria being met; the student will be informed of the criteria when the original award is made. The purpose of this scholarship is to support educational diversity at NC State by giving priority to students from groups which are considered underrepresented in the science disciplines. Within that priority, first preference shall be given to students who reside in northeastern NC counties including, but not limited to, Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrell, and Washington Counties.
