Merit. First preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in mathematics. If no student in mathematics meets the criteria for this award, the award may be used for to students pursuing a degree in physics. Similarly, if the award is not made to a student in physics, the award may be made to students in the other traditional curricula of the college (chemistry, statistics, or marine, earth, and atmospheric sciences).
