O'Connell College of Sciences Scholarship
Distributions from the Fund will be used to provide merit-based scholarships for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in the College of Sciences who are from the first generation in their family to attend college. In addition, preference will be given to students who meet a greater number of the criteria: a) Students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in mathematics or statistics. b) Students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent on other grade point scales. Awards will be determined by the Dean, or their designee, in accordance with the established procedures for awarding merit-based scholarships. Awards will be for one academic year, and if funds are available, may be renewable based on specific criteria being met; the recipient will be informed of the criteria when the award is made.
