Lawrence Davenport Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship
Provides need-based scholarships for undergraduate students at NC State University.
Preference will be given as follows:
a) First preference will be given to student who reside in rural North Carolina counties, currently defined as Tier 1 and Tier 2 (as determined by the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center) in eastern North Carolina. Eastern counties are identified as: Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Robeson, Sampson, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne and Wilson.
b) Second preference will be given to students who are North Carolina residents.
Awards will be determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid in accordance with the established procedures for awarding need-based scholarships. Awards will be for one academic year and may be renewable regardless of financial need or changes to county classifications (i.e. Tier designation), so long as the recipient meets Satisfactory Academic Progress.
