John and Jody Mease Marine Sciences Scholarship Endowment

Distributions from the Fund will be used to provide merit- and need-based scholarships for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in marine sciences.

Preference will be given to students who reside in rural North Carolina counties as determined by the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center. Awards will be determined by the Dean, or their designee, in accordance with the established procedures for awarding merit- and need-based scholarships. Awards will be for one academic year and may be renewable regardless of financial need and based on specific criteria met; the recipient will be informed of the criteria when the award is made. In addition, awards may be renewable for recipients residing in counties whose designations by the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center have changed.
