Curtis W. Fentress Scholarship

Must be an undergraduate student who is a North Carolina resident that is studying architecture in the College of Design. Awards will be determined by the Dean of the College, or his or her designee, in accordance with established procedures for awarding need-based scholarships, with merit as a secondary consideration. Preference will be given to students who are members of groups which are underrepresented in the NC State College of Design including, but not limited to:

a) those who have state- or federally-recognized Native American tribal cards, or tribal documentation confirming affiliation; or
b) those who are interested in, have participated in, or will participate in organizations affiliated with NC State’s Department of Multicultural Student Affairs, including those related to the African American Cultural Center; or
c) those who graduated from high schools in rural North Carolina counties; or
d) those who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantages or are first-generation college students.

One or more awards shall be for one academic year and may be renewable.
